{"id":644,"date":"2009-11-14T15:06:03","date_gmt":"2009-11-14T13:06:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.optimiced.com\/en\/?p=644"},"modified":"2010-12-30T14:56:09","modified_gmt":"2010-12-30T12:56:09","slug":"fireworks-grunge-styles","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.optimiced.com\/en\/2009\/11\/14\/fireworks-grunge-styles\/","title":{"rendered":"Fireworks Grunge Styles 1.0"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Today I am happy to announce for download the following Fireworks styles, by Fireworks guru Mikko Vartio:<\/p>\n<p>(You can find Mikko in <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/twitter.com\/mkkov\">Twitter<\/a><\/strong> and <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/mikkko\/sets\/72157622520946539\/detail\/\">Flickr<\/a><\/strong>, where he often posts about Adobe Fireworks.)<\/p>\n<p>The styles are called Fireworks Grunge Styles, version 1.0.<\/p>\n<p>They are absolutely free &#8212; but if you mention their author, Mikko, in a project where you plan to use them, this will be greatly appreciated! ;-)<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.optimiced.com\/wp-uploads\/2009\/11\/Fw-Grunge-Styles.zip\" title=\"Download the Fireworks Grunge Styles, ZIP (570 kB)\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.optimiced.com\/wp-uploads\/2009\/11\/grunge-styles-screen.640.jpg\" alt=\"Fireworks Grunge Styles (screenshot)\" \/><\/a><br \/>\n[downloaded over 300 times between Nov 14, 2009 and Dec 30, 2010!]<\/p>\n<h3>Description from the Author<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>The styles are based on Advanced Stroke settings and Alpha channel.<\/li>\n<li>The grunge comes from custom white stroke and with Filters\/Convert To Alpha, the stroke is &#8220;removed&#8221;.<\/li>\n<li>Each style is coloured with Filters\/Hue\/Saturation settings, so color can be adjusted with adjusting the Hue value (see &#8220;Filters&#8221; section in the Property Inspector).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Installation &#038; Use<\/h3>\n<p>Simply copy the file &#8220;Grunge Styles.stl&#8221; (found in the ZIP archive) to the Adobe Fireworks &#8220;Styles&#8221; folder and restart Fireworks.<\/p>\n<p>1) Example location of the folder on Windows XP, for Fireworks CS4:<br \/>\n<code>C:\\Documents and Settings\\USERNAME\\Application Data\\Adobe\\Fireworks CS4\\Styles\\<\/code><\/p>\n<p>2) Example location of the folder on Windows Vista, for Fireworks CS4:<br \/>\n<code>C:\\Users\\USERNAME\\AppData\\Adobe\\Fireworks CS4\\Styles\\<\/code><\/p>\n<p>(For Windows 7 and MacOS X, please, refer to Adobe Fireworks Help, for the exact location of the &#8220;Styles&#8221; folder!)<\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s it! :-)<\/p>\n<p>After you have copied the styles to the Fireworks &#8220;Styles&#8221; folder, and restarted Fireworks, you can can select &#8220;Grunge Styles&#8221; from the dropdown list in the &#8220;Styles&#8221; panel [<a href=\"https:\/\/www.optimiced.com\/wp-uploads\/2009\/11\/fw-screen-styles-list-with-grunge-styles.png\">screenshot<\/a>], then select an object on the canvas, and apply any of the styles to it. They can be also edited easily (color, for example), so feel free to experiment!<\/p>\n<p>Of course, you can also load the styles without first copying them: Open the &#8220;Styles&#8221; panel in Fireworks, then select &#8220;Load Style&#8221; from the panel menu [<a href=\"https:\/\/www.optimiced.com\/wp-uploads\/2009\/11\/fw-screen-load-styles-menu.png\">screenshot<\/a>], and load them!
